Week 6

Learning in Action!
What an exciting week we have had in school...
On Monday I popped in to see the Tudor Day for Y3 & Y4 and I didn't recognise the children in their costumes they looked amazing. Thank you to our families for helping them prepare for this activity. I will try and publish the photograph of Mr McLean dressed as the bear!
Miss Tromans designed the front page of the newsletter this week. I am sure you will enjoy the photographs of your children having fun. Thank you for your hard work Miss T.

Wednesday brought the young people from Brigshaw who came to talk to us about exciting new ideas to continue the Olympic Legacy from last year. Our school council are going to generate ideas for ways in which we can celebrate the 40th Birthday of Brigshaw High School. I'm looking forward to hearing about them.
On Friday Y5 & Y6 enjoyed a wonderful day at Eden Camp bringing their World War 2 topic to life. The children were fantastic ambassadors for the school and enjoyed their experience.
I attended the briefing for the Christmas Leeds Town Hall Choir concert and really enjoyed singing with the adult choir on Friday evening at West Park. There are some lovely songs and the choir will be making a start on them next Friday at our club. Mrs Fox, Miss McVeigh and I are all looking forward to finishing the week singing!
Thank you to the parents who came to join me for coffee and a chat on Friday morning. The main themes were around parking (which is always an issue for schools), Stranger Danger, Road Safety, Safer Strangers within the community and some issues around the park in Great Preston. Some of our children had experienced difficulties with older children and Mrs Lennon and I work closely to ensure our children look after one another through our cooperative values.
Miss Greenwood is making a slow recovery and I went to see her on Friday with some lovely flowers which we hope will cheer her up. Get well soon Miss G.
