Year 6 Parents - RESIDENTIAL

Dear Parents/Carers,
what I delight your children have been and however hard you thought they might struggle with the demands of the residential, they are all doing you proud!

They worked hard yesterday and faced many challenges:
  • Making their beds was the most entertaining yet! For some children they had quite a few attempts before their bed was ready to sleep in. Sam Ferguson deserves a special mention as he was able to help everyone else!
  • Carrying their suitcases from the coach and to their rooms...you will not believe how independent they are becoming! Kai Hall deserves a special mention here as his case was enormous and he was exhausted by the time he made it to his room.
  • The walk at Bolton Abbey and the river study was wonderful. It was such a lovely sunny morning and Jordan Hatton said it was the best day of his life. Ah!
  • Tea time was a challenge for some but they all tried a little bit of everything and even decided that they like minestrone soup now!
  • Imogen Hewitt was fantastic as a leader and instructor for the night line activity. She found it difficult at first but then her skills developed as she realised her team was reducing in number because they were bumping into things. Well done Imogen you ensured they all completed the course unharmed in the end.
  • Lucas Mawson was a super star when he was a little home sick at tea time as was Bailey Hudson & Ellie Carrier. They kept each other busy and happy and faced that challenge well.
  • All the children had a good night's sleep. I was on duty and the children were all  asleep by midnight.
  • They have all written a postcard home to you and have been really positive in their writing.
This morning they are out canoeing, rock climbing and enjoying the zip wire! I will try and get some photos on for you later this evening.
Please don't worry about them they are all really enjoying themselves.
Mrs S.
